The HACU National Internship Program is seeking a talented and highly motivated student to intern in a challenging assignment for this summer in Albany, CA. A full-time or part-time schedule can be accommodated; however, interns must be able to work a minimum of 15 to 30 hours per week if electing a part-time schedule. Internship Details

  • Location:  Albany, CA.
  • Pay:  Sophomores/Juniors:  $11.75 per hour; Seniors:  $12.50 per hour; Masters/JD:  $14.25 per hour
  • Housing:  Bay Area students only.
  • Desired Majors:  Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Level Students preferred.

All majors are encouraged to apply!  However, interest in science and business is helpful.

To be eligible for these positions, applicants must:

  1. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  2. Be enrolled in a degree program for the Spring 2014 semester.
  3. Have completed their freshman year of college.
  4. Be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Skills & Abilities:

The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Regional Administrator and will gain experience, skills, and knowledge in the following areas:

Assist Program Analyst in fast-paced high volume office with general operations associated with the processing and monitoring of actions, documents and related information for the management and review of agricultural research programs in the western United States. The assignment will begin during Annual Report Season, where 50 research units report their work (research program accountability).  Provide report and analyzes data to support preparation of technical and procedural advice in support of research program administration, as assigned. Researches established guidelines to provide program management and administrative assistance. Work-related activities include the use of computers, word processing, database management analysis, creating and maintaining customer relationships over phone & via e-mail and some filing.
