Are you looking for a unique summer internship where you're immersed in a real online start up? If you want to learn valuable skills that you can leverage in your professional career, Educents might be just the right fit! We’re looking for an intern with an interest in social marketing, branding and community outreach. Educents is a privately held Education company that recently launched their flash-sale platform. As the first flash-sale site focused solely on educational products, we help parents, teachers and homeschoolers get incredible deals on handpicked, unique educational products at unbeatable prices.
ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:
Your typical day will involve research, media buying, updating social channels and profiles, responding to customer inquiries and feedback, testing marketing and advertising avenues, finding (and telling) our story to people who care, examining web analytics data, creating marketing collateral with our graphic design team, and grassroots community outreach. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical and communications/marketing background, and a strong interest in developing a skill set around Internet marketing, optimization and user acquisition. You also need to be a great writer, be fluent in social media, and up to date with trends in technology and marketing. Candidate must be available to work in the Oakland office 30 hours a week (occasional flexibility with work-from-home options). The Educents office is car-friendly (lots of parking!) and easy to commute via BART. This is a non-paid internship.

What to Expect in the Interview Process:
1. Don't be scared, our interview process may seem a bit more intensive than others but we want the perfect candidate (after all, we want to be able to offer you a job at the end of the internship).
2. Initially, we'll set up a phone call or web meeting. We'll walk through your resume, qualifications, work samples and you'll answer questions that will help us gauge your general marketing knowledge.
3. If the phone call goes well, we will invite you to Educents’ offices in Oakland for an in-person interview. After evaluating your background skills and drive to learn online marketing, (and how you fit in with our culture and team) we'll make an offer and hopefully start you by mid-May to early June.
