Responsibilities:

The Content Manager is responsible for strategizing with the leadership team, creating and managing the editorial calendar, producing, editing and publishing content, and collaborating with the SLMT to ensure that content is dynamic, relevant and accessible.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Serve as the chief editor for the Life at SF State Blog
  • Supervise the work of content writers and interns including assigning & editing stories
  • Write regular blog features and ensure that a regular flow of content is developed
  • Produce regular content for Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks.
  • Assist in the tracking and assessment of web and social media analytics
  • Work cooperatively with key team members, clients & vendors to develop campaigns and engage in other marketing
  • Coordinate with SF State departments and organizations for spotlight posts
  • Assist in the development and execution of the Student Life Marketing Plan
Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to craft compelling and engaging narratives and copy
  • Familiarity Wordpress, and various social networks
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Well organized, self motivated & able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Knowledge of current marketing techniques, tools and trends.
  • Bonus: HTML & Adobe Photoshop experience!
  • Bonus: SEO experience

About the Student Life Marketing Team

Student Life at SF State is a network within the Dean of Students Office that includes the Associated Students, Student Center, Campus Recreation, Residential Life, Student Conduct, and the Student Involvement & Career Center. The Student Life Marketing Team (SLMT) is a student team charged with producing marketing materials to promote events, services and programs for students to get involved on campus.

We manage the Student Life brand, and interface directly with the Student Life Activities Board (SLAB). Our team consists of videographers, designers, photographers & content producers. We are focused on both online and traditional media including web & social media, events marketing, campaign execution, and more.

Every member of the SLMT also serves as an ambassador for the Student Life brand and San Francisco State University.
