Responsibilities:

The facilities and events staff is responsible for a variety of duties during an event, some of which include the following: setting up venue in preparation for competition (scoreboard, PA system, tables, chairs, tents, signage, heavy gymnastics equipment, etc.), escorting visiting teams and officials, assisting ushers and security staff in responding to guest concerns during the event, and monitoring facility conditions and repairing or reporting as necessary.

The facilities and events staff is also responsible for assisting the Director of Facility Services with basic maintenance and preparation of all athletics facilities.

Skills & Abilities:

Desired qualifications include professional individuals with a high level of communication skills, good judgment, an ability to think on your feet and a strong attention to detail. Customer service experience is a plus.

Must be willing and able to perform physical labor as it relates to event set-up and breakdown. Must be available nights and weekends.

Facilities and events staff will have a high level of communication skills and be willing to uphold Stanford Athletics goal and mission to serve our customers.

Other responsibilities include the ability to:

  • Listen attentively to guest concerns or questions, and be prepared to answer to the best of your ability and document when necessary
  • Have specific knowledge of all major game day operations
  • Be prepared to assist all employees in whatever capacity deemed necessary (both interdepartmentally and outside vendors)
  • Operate machinery (i.e. fork lift, scissor lift, golf carts)
  • Provide support for special events held on campus
  • Support all event staff in alcohol-related incidents with guests
  • Fill out incident reports for all alcohol-related incidents when necessary
  • Be aware of all others’ roles and responsibilities on game days
  • Fill out event summary reports and alert staff of any maintenance issues
