Supervision/Evaluation: Interns will be supervised by the Online Communications Manager and the Director of Marketing and Communications. Evaluations take place informally and as part of the ongoing process of working together as a team. If a more formal evaluation is required, we will absolutely accommodate that need.

Who should apply? Both Undergrad and Graduate Students
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting and engaging our followers on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Yelp
  • Promoting Council events on online events-listing websites
  • Disseminating our podcast episodes and videos across a variety of social media platforms
  • Seeking out breaking news and articles related to our diverse set of programs and distinguished speakers
  • Networking online with local organizations to facilitate cross-marketing opportunities and partnerships
  • Assisting the Online Communications Manager with strategic implementations and administrative support
Skills & Abilities:
  • Interest in nonprofit communications technology and marketing
  • A solid familiarity with online social networking technologies (experience using social networks in a professional context or related work in the nonprofit sector is strongly preferred)
  • You should be an articulate networker, creative, independent and have an excellent eye for detail (proper spelling and grammar is vital)
  • Additional preference given to candidates with web or graphic design experience (Adobe Photoshop, HTML, CSS) and online marketing/analytics experience (Google AdSense, Google Analytics)
