Business Tutor at CARP Job Description

• Provide tutoring services for SF State students in Business and Math courses; Business Calculus (DS110 or Math 110), College Algebra (MATH 60/70), Business Finance (FIN 350) and other Business major courses.
• Facilitate tutorial sessions with individual students or small groups.
• Generate supplemental academic resources, i.e. develop and present workshops with peers or make academic handouts, worksheets, or practice sheets.
• Starting pay $10. 26 an hour.

Qualifications Applicant must:

• Start work in the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters.
• Be a SF State student (Junior and Senior standing preferred).
• Have passed a majority of the classes indicated above with a grade of B or better.
• Have an overall 3.0 GPA or better.
• Be patient and willing to support students.
• Be able to empathically and interactively communicate with others.
• Be able to analyze problems logically and explain explicitly.
• Be able to speak in front of large audiences (10 to 40 people).
• Be available to tutor 12 hours during CARP’s regular semester operation hours: M-TH 4pm – 8pm and F 11am – 2 pm
• International students must refer to SF State’s policies for hiring international students.
