Duties may include (we will tailor the position for you once we meet, based on your strengths and areas of interest):

• Learning the language that embodies our dance style and personality in order to effectively communicate the essence of our work to the world via press releases, announcements, our website, newsletter and to current and potential clients and students.
• Coordinate content for our online and print communications to our students, clients, and dance community including website updates, email bulletins, etc. Ensuring that texts for publication are well written, grammatically correct and accessible
• Innovating New Paradigm ways of marketing and through clear brand expression via Facebook and creative promotional Maintenance of our social networking sites (Facebook) and website
• Create data lists and systems for sorting and storing text, photos & video
• Design flyers and other promotional materials
• Checking in students at Hot Pink Feathers Showgirl Academy classes, including facilitation of payment and registration, and maintenance of class rosters.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Innovative thinker; New Paradigm Marketing-oriented
• Familiar with Mailchimp, WordPress, Photoshop & Excel
• Keeps up with Facebook, Yelp & Promotions like Groupons
• Adept with visual media and graphic design

About Hot Pink Feathers

Hot Pink Feathers is an 11+ year old dance company based in SF. We offer dance entertainment and instruction in the Bay Area and beyond, and are known for our signature world cabaret showgirl carnaval style of dance.

We are a strong, centered, women’s based dance company providing an affirmative and supportive environment for instruction, learning and personal growth, and value the process of learning and growing as much as the end goal.

Hot Pink Feathers was voted "Best Dance Company 2008" in the SF Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay polls, named "Best Dance Classes" by 7x7 Magazine in 2010 and deemed "Absolutely Fabulous" by SF Pride Parade in both 2011 & 2012. Hot Pink Feathers is directed by Kellita, Queen of Carnaval SF 2008.

Interns

Hot Pink Feathers is seeking 2 parttime (10 hours/wk) highly organized and self-starting individuals to create and implement new paradigm marketing and redesign operations to fully support our expansion to national and international markets.

This internship offers an opportunity to receive hands on training and mentorship in how to market and manage an arts organization. This position is an ideal match for an individual interested in gaining a broad perspective in arts education & entertainment marketing & administration while working side-by-side with the founder and director of one of the Bay Area’s most unique and dynamic dance companies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for numerous production activities and participate in the lively, adventurous, and joyful environment of Hot Pink Feathers productions.

Compensation

This is a 10-wk unpaid internship position leading to the possibility of renewing the internship at that time, ultimately with paid employment as possibility. Compensation includes dance instruction, free admission and backstage passes at shows, the ability to be mentored by one of the Bay Area’s most joyful dance pioneers, and the opportunity to innovate and implement new paradigm marketing and operations systems for the expanding of an established live performance arts organization at a critical time of expansion.
