Industry Networking Event 2012

The Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) at San Francisco State University invites you to the annual HTM Symposium and Career Fair on Thursday, March 8, 2012, held at the San Francisco State University main campus.

Hospitality Industry in Economic Recovery

  • Thurs., Mar. 8, 2012

Keynote Speaker

Yvonne Lembi-Detert, President and CEO, Personality Hotels and Engage Hospitality

“Current Issues in the Bay Area Hospitality Industry during the Recovery Mode”
Noon to 1:30 p.m.

Career Fair

  • Towers Conference Center
  • 2 to 4 p.m.

The Career Fair provides a venue for students to learn about the industry and various internship and volunteer opportunities, along with part-time and full-time job opportunities, available at your organization.

The Career Fair is held directly after the Hospitality & Tourism Management Symposium, and is attended by over 200 HTM students.

Students are instructed to bring their résumés. They will meet with the hospitality industry representatives at the Career Fair and during the keynote lunch session.

Due to limited space for employers, we encourage you to register early.

Registration

Your registration covers the Career Fair event venue, publicity, table/employer signage, one table, two chairs, and lunch for two people at the symposium keynote session. Additional lunches may be pre-purchased with the registration for an additional $25 per additional attendee.

Registration is $350 if payment is received/postmarked by February 9, 2012. An additional $50 will be applied for late registrations. The registration deadline is February 23, 2012 to allow timely mailing of confirmation details and parking permits.

How to Register

  1. Go to www.sfsu.edu/~career
  2. On the left side navigation, click the "GatorJOBS" link.
  3. Under the Employers & Recruiters section, click the "Post positions and register for events."
  4. If you already have an account on GatorJOBS, enter your Username and Password in the appropriate fields, then click the "Login" button.
    If you are a new user to GatorJOBS, click the "Click here to register!" link at the bottom of the page to create a new account.
  5. Once logged into your GatorJOBS account, click the "Career Fairs and Events" link on the menu bar at the top of your account homepage.
  6. Click the "Search" button.
  7. Click the "Hospitality & Tourism Management Career Fair 2012" link to begin the online registration.

Student attendance at the HTM Symposium and Career Fair

We have limited seating at the noon keynote session. SF State Hospitality and Tourism Management students who wish to attend the Symposium Keynote Noon Session must register with Beverly Colindres, College of Business, BUS 306, (415) 338-1023. A payment of $12.00 (check only) to include lunch and keynote session must be made by March 1, 2012. Admission to the Career Fair is free for SF State students. Students must bring résumés and dress professionally for admittance to both events.

About the Program

SF State's Hospitality and Tourism Management Program is the largest four-year hospitality management program in the Bay Area with over 400 students. Approximately 100 students graduate from the program each year. The B.S. in Hospitality Management is housed in the College of Business, and is AACSB accredited. The program prepares students for management positions in lodging, restaurant and resort businesses.
