The Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) at San Francisco State University invites you to the annual HTM Symposium and Career Fair on Thursday, March 8, 2012, held at the San Francisco State University main campus.

Symposium Keynote Speaker, Jon Handlery, has been involved in the hotel business his entire life, and has been the general manager at Handlery Union Square Hotel since 1987. He also oversees operations of the 217-room Handlery San Diego. He is responsible for overall hotel operations at the family-owned and operated hotels, and for maintaining the high level of personalized service for which Handlery Hotels has become known.
Harry Handlery, Jon’s grandfather, founded Handlery Hotels more than 80 years ago, and purchased the Union Square hotel in 1948. Jon has overseen numerous changes at the hotel, including a multi-million dollar refurbishment completed in 2010.
Jon was the 2004 Chairman of the San Francisco Travel Association, and has served as president of the Hotel Council of San Francisco, and president of The Union Square Association.

The Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management invites hospitality representatives to the HTM Career Fair on Thursday, March 21, 2013, 2–4 p.m., at the Towers Conference Center, SF State campus.
The purpose of the career fair is to provide opportunities for HTM students to learn about the industry and the available internship/volunteer/part-time and full-time job opportunities.
The Career Fair is held after the Hospitality & Tourism Management Symposium Keynote Session attended by HTM students. Students are instructed to bring their resumes. They meet with hospitality industry representatives at the Career Fair and during the keynote luncheon session.
Regular registration for the Career Fair is $350 if registration is completed and payment is received/postmarked by February 15, 2013. An additional $50 is applied for late registrations. Registration deadline is March 7, 2013, to allow mailing of confirmation details and parking permits.
Your registration covers costs of the career fair event venue, publicity, table/employer signage, a table, two chairs, and lunch for two people at the symposium keynote session.
To register for the HTM Career Fair:
- Visit the SF State Career Center Web site at www.sfsu.edu/~career
- Click the “GatorJOBS” link, located on the left side of the Web page.
- Click the “Post positions and register for events” under the Employers & Recruiters heading.
- If you already have an account on GatorJOBS, enter your Username and Password in the appropriate fields, and then click the “Login” button.
- If you are a new user to GatorJOBS, click the “Click here to register!” link at the bottom of the page to create a new account.
- After logging into your GatorJOBS account, click the “Career Fairs and Events” item, which can be found on the menu bar at the top of your homepage.
- Click the “Search” button.
- Click the “Hospitality & Tourism Management Career Fair 2013” link to begin the online registration.
Student attendance at the HTM Symposium and Career Fair
We have limited seating at the noon keynote session. SF State Hospitality and Tourism Management students who wish to attend the Symposium Keynote Noon Session must register with Beverly Colindres, College of Business, BUS 306, (415) 338-1023. A payment of $12.00 (check only) to include lunch and keynote session must be made by March 1, 2012. Admission to the Career Fair is free for SF State students. Students must bring résumés and dress professionally for admittance to both events.

About the Program
SF State's Hospitality and Tourism Management Program is the largest four-year hospitality management program in the Bay Area with over 400 students. Approximately 100 students graduate from the program each year. The B.S. in Hospitality Management is housed in the College of Business, and is AACSB-accredited. The program prepares students for management positions in lodging, restaurant and resort businesses.
