First Steps

Below is information to help you prepare for your first semester:

Accept Admission Offer

Your admission status has been updated online to "admitted" and you should have received an admission letter from our University. All newly admitted students must respond online and let us know if they accept our admission offer (AAO). Please access the application on the SF State Gateway website by May 1st to indicate whether you plan on attending San Francisco State University this Fall. Your response is required in order to register for classes and you will be required to sign up for an SF State email account as well.

Foundation Course Waiving and course planning

Students who are eligible to waive Foundation courses will receive an email from our office so they can plan their class registration accordingly.

You can refer to the MBA and MSA course requirement pages to find the MBA Program Flowchart (pdf) or MSA Program Flowcharts (pdf) for course planning and choosing classes.

The schedule of classes offered in the fall semester is available on the online class schedule. The complete Fall schedule with a listing of days and times will be available by end of April.

Fall 2013 Class Registration for all new incoming students begins July 29

A Priority Registration date and Deadline to Pay Fees will be assigned to you by the University Registrar's Office. Students are required to pay the tuition and fees prior to registering for classes. You can check your assigned fee payment deadline and priority registration date, and pay and register for classes online through MySFSU.

We recommend you register for classes on your assigned priority registration date, since some classes fill up quickly. Please complete the following checklist before registering for classes: http://www.sfsu.edu/~gradstdy/to-do-list.htm

A list of the tuition and fees can be found on our website. The Bursar’s office website has the most up-to-date details regarding tuition and fees. You may check the Registrar's Website for more information on class registration deadlines or tuition refund policy.
