Fall 2012 Payment Instructions and Deadlines

The information on this page is for the Fall 2012 Executive MBA program's cohort 22 (courses BUS 888 and BUS 883).

Payment Due Date

Check or Online Payment: September 4, 2012

Financial Aid Students

All necessary steps for your financial aid package must be completed by September 4, 2012.

Methods of Payment

Pay by Check

  1. Submit a check in the amount of US$9,288, payable to “SF State-CEL”. Please be sure to include your full name and SFSU ID number on your check.
  2. Drop off your check to CEL, located on the 6th floor of the SF State Downtown Campus. Go to the main reception desk once you get off the elevator.

Make an Online Payment

Student ID and SF State Email Password

When paying over the phone or online, you will be asked to enter your Student ID Number and SF State email password.

Credit Card option:

  • Call 1-866-769-2106 or visit the web at
  • Only Master Card, American Express and Discover are accepted
  • Fee: A non-refundable 2.5% convenience fee will be charged for all credit card transactions.

Electronic Check option:

  • Call 1-866-769-2106 or visit the web at
  • Fee: A non-refundable $0.50 convenience fee will be charged to your checking account for the transaction.


You can retain a receipt as proof of online payment from at the time of the transaction.

Miscellaneous Fees

Late Fee

A late fee of $25 (per course, per term elapsed) is owed when you fail to submit your payment by September 18, 2012.

Bounced Check

If your check bounces for any reason, you will be charged a fee of $20. Please note: You remain liable to the University, CEL and the EMBA program for the full amount of tuition owed, plus any miscellaneous fees until the full amount is remitted. 

Fees are subject to change by the Trustees of the California State Universities and Colleges.

Fall 2012 EMBA Deadlines

Deadline to submit payments

The deadline to submit payment is September 4, 2012, or to secure a financial aid deferment.

Add Payment and Drop Deadline

The add payment and drop deadline is September 18, 2012.

After September 18, 2012, students are no longer able to drop courses or be eligible for a refund. After this date withdrawing from courses results in a “W” on transcripts. 

Failure to pay tuition by September 18, 2012, results in a late fee of $25 per course.

Refund Policies

Full refund (minus $20)

Drop courses one business day before Fall term begins to receive a full refund minus $20.

65 Percent Refund

Drop courses between first day of class through September 18, 2012, to receive a 65 percent refund.

No refund

If you drop a course after September 18, 2012, you will receive no refund and a “W” will be placed on your transcript.
