An Invitation to Invest
Alumni and friends are invited to support the College of Business in the following areas:
College of Business Dean’s Fund
Extend the reach of your investment to the greatest number of students. The Dean’s Fund provides unrestricted support to critical college programs such as technology skills workshops and career fairs, which promote undergraduate and graduate students’ entry into their selected professions.
While a contribution to the Dean’s Fund supports all activities of the College of Business, targeted giving allows donors to direct their contributions to areas of specific interest, including student enrichment, faculty enhancement, and individual academic disciplines.
Private support through donations enables the college to provide students a competitive edge by complementing their classroom experience with the following resources:
- preparation to enter the job market
- leadership training
- career services
The college continues to attract and retain internationally recognized experts in a variety of emerging disciplines, from sustainable business to decision sciences. Contributions enhance the faculty’s ability to pursue ground-breaking scholarship on a global level, conduct applied academic research, present papers at industry conferences, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and enhance teaching skills. Additional opportunities to support faculty enhancement include endowed chairs and professorships.

The accounting program provides study in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, and accounting systems and prepares students for diverse careers. Excellence in teaching, active intellectual contributions, dedicated committee work, and community service are the hallmarks of the program’s faculty.
Hospitality and Tourism Management
This program is the largest four-year hospitality industry program in the Bay Area. Students participate in rigorous academic coursework, learn directly from industry experts, and frequently begin careers at local hospitality sites.
In fall 2007, the College of Business launched its MBA with an Emphasis in Sustainable Business. By 2009, the world-renowned Aspen Institute Center for Business Education recognized the College’s MBA program in the top 25 in the U.S. and 29th globally for providing a socially responsible business curriculum.
Contributions also may be directed to other disciplines, including finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, international business, decision sciences, and information systems.
