About PACIBER Activities

Annual Meeting

PACIBER representatives gather every year in a city where a member school is located to receive updates on current international business issues, discuss curriculum development, and present new initiatives for the consortium. Research panels and keynote speeches are also part of the program.

PACIBER faculty work together on various research projects on topics ranging from cross-cultural management to capital markets development. Research papers are presented to the members at the annual meeting and the abstracts are published on the PACIBER website.

Curriculum Development

New courses focusing on current business issues in the Asia-Pacific region are jointly developed by faculty members from PACIBER member schools. These course materials are designed for delivery via the Internet, and are available to all PACIBER member faculty and students.

Faculty Expertise Database and Communication System

New technologies have allowed faster and more efficient communication around the world. PACIBER faculty can identify, communicate and collaborate with colleagues around the world via the electronic searchable database of research expertise, electronic bulletin board and chatroom.

Action Items

Schools are encouraged to invite faculty to present on corporate governance. Please send proposed topic and we will do our best to fit it in an appropriate session. We also encourage you to invite your partner schools across the Asia Pacific Region.

Call for Papers

Please distribute to your faculty. The submission deadline is closed, with notification of acceptance by May 2, 2014. Accepted papers and/or abstracts will be published in the annual meeting proceedings, and may be awarded a partial travel stipend.

Student Fellows

Based on the success of student involvement in past PACIBER meetings, we are pleased to announce a student fellows program on Corporate Governance, which would entail a panel/presentation session by the students and pairing with a faculty mentor. PACIBER members would solicit their students and nominate qualified students. The sponsoring school will cover airfare and PACIBER will cover lodging and the conference fee. The application deadline is closed with notification of acceptance by April 25, 2014.
