David Franz
Professor, Accounting
Dr. David Franz, CMA, professor of accounting, has been teaching at San Francsico State University since 1987. His primary teaching area is managerial/cost accounting but he has also taught accounting information systems and financial accounting.
Professor Franz received his Ph.D. in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University, his M.B.A. in accounting from Drexel University, his B.S. in marketing from The Pennsylvania State University and is a certified management accountant.
He has published and presented over 15 papers on four continents in journals such as Journal of Business, Finance, and Accounting, Small Business Controller, and Indian Journal of Accounting. His current research activities are in the areas of environmental accounting and accounting education.
