Pacific Gas and Electric Company becomes Gold Level sponsor of the SAP Recognition Award Certificate Program

News + Events : Pacific Gas and Electric Company becomes Gold Level sponsor of the SAP Recognition Award Certificate Program

PG&E became the first Gold sponsor of the SAP Recognition Award Certificate Program at San Francisco State University’s College of Business.

Gold level sponsorship is based on a donation of at least $12,000. As a result of this donation, PG&E receives access to the top SAP Recognition Award certificate recipients throughout the year for internship opportunities. Furthermore, PG&E’s sponsorship at the Gold level will be announced on the college's and IS department websites, as well as department brochures.

Larry and John from PG&EPG&E SAP IT experts Larry Cantieri and John Oliver, who are members of the SAP Advisory Board at SF State, commented, “We were impressed with the quality of the interns we have hired. The professors have integrated SAP into the curriculum and this has prepared them well.”

IS Department Chair Paul Beckman said, “We are thankful to PG&E for their Gold Level Sponsorship of the department’s SAP Initiative. Their sponsorship will help offset the significant costs associated with SAP academic licensing fees. This level of corporate sponsorship also will allow us to expand our efforts in offering our students current and valuable education about topics that our industry sponsors find beneficial.”

College of Business Dean Linda Oubré said, “Developing a pipeline of excellent job-ready students for industry is a top priority for the College of Business. Thanks to the support of companies like PG&E, our students are prepared to enter the competitive workforce with the skills necessary to make an immediate impact and add value to their organizations.”

College of Business students can currently enroll in four SAP integrated courses (ISYS 471, ISYS 569, ISYS 650 and ISYS 663). Students earn the SAP Recognition Award certificate by completing three of these courses with a grade of C or better. The prerequisite for the first three courses is ISYS 363 or ACCT 307.
