Welcome

The Economics Department offers a B.A. and M.A. in Economics. We are a medium-sized department with approximately twelve full time faculty members. We strive for excellence in teaching and also have a wide variety of research interests in various applied fields in economics.

Economics Department Graduation Celebration 2013: Graduating Students in the Economics BA and MA Programs, their family, and friends are invited to a reception (pdf) immediately following the main SFSU commencement ceremony. Time and place: Saturday, May 25, ~3:30 – 5:00pm, HSS 143. RSVP to econ@sfsu.edu by Monday, May 20 and advise of how many people are attending.

Department of Economics Scholarships (deadline extended): Economics majors are welcome to apply for Ramona K. First Scholarship in Economics and Don Scoble Scholarship in Economics. Applications are now due April 19, 2013.

Pacific Conference for Development Economics (Pac-Dev) 2013: The 2013 Pacific Conference on Development Economics (Pac-Dev)  is sponsored by the Department of Economics and will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at San Francisco State University. The goal of Pac-Dev is to bring together graduate students, faculty and practitioners to present and discuss various issues facing developing economies. More details about the PACDEV event.
