Student Success

Spotlight on Gator Greatness

The Great Gator highlights the employment achievements of a graduate from the College of Business.

"The tools I learned and the people I met at SFSU College of Business put me on the pathway to my career.” – Rachel Artz,

Rachel Artz

Rachel Artz graduated from SFSU in 2012 with her MBA in Sustainable Business. She was looking for a summer internship when she got involved with Career Services through marketing professor Dr. Baht. “With so many candidates applying to highly-sought after internship positions, it was extremely beneficial and valuable to have the support of the College of Business.” After receiving an email about an internship opportunity for marketing students, Rachel applied to the Marketing Internship at Vine Connections, a premium wine importer and broker that represents over 75 premium wine from Argentina, Chile, & California and sake from Japan. During her internship, she was given the responsibility of Project Manager for a new sustainable distribution channel of keg sake. Upon her graduation in 2014, Rachel was hired full-time at Vine Connections as the Marketing Manager. Today, Rachel leads the strategy process for new and rebranded products, and she also manages sales support for the national company.
