The Department of Accounting from the College of Business is pleased to honor and recognize alumni and faculty in accounting who are business leaders and have made significant impact in the accounting field.

The Accounting Distinguished Awards will recognize individuals for longtime contributions to the accounting profession, a particular achievement, a series of achievements or a career of noteworthy accomplishments, including recognizing companies who have partnered with the department.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award – A seasoned accounting professional who has made a significant and advance the accounting profession through leadership.
    • Career noteworthy accomplishments
    • Setting high standards of excellence in their personal and professional lives
    • Exceptional contributions to the campus and community
  • Corporate Partner Award – Acknowledgment to a corporate who has partnered with the accounting department through active involvement, engagement, recruiting efforts and corporate giving support.
  • Outstanding Public Accounting Award – An accounting professional who has made successful contributions in the public accounting sector.
    • A series or particular of achievements
    • Outstanding contributions to the campus and community
  • Outstanding Private Accounting Award – An accounting professional who has made successful contributions in the private accounting sector.
    • A series or particular of achievements
    • Outstanding contributions to the campus and community
  • Community Champion Award – An accounting professional who has made an impact in the accounting profession and to the community through active involvement with local non-profit and organizations.
    • A series or particular of achievements
    • Outstanding contributions to the campus
    • Outstanding contributions and involvement in non-profits
  • Rising Star Award – A young accounting professional who demonstrates leadership skills and has made contributions to the accounting department.
    • Maximum of ten years of post-graduation and under 35 years of age
    • Made outstanding contributions professionally, to the community or to SF State
  • Distinguished Service Professor of Accounting Award – Recognizes a faculty for sustained performance in excellence in teaching and service in accounting.
    • Served as department chair        
    • Full-time faculty members for a minimum of 10 years are eligible
