Learn the job search skills necessary to put yourself ahead of the pack and strategically manage your career.

Select career workshops are a graduation requirement for incoming graduate business students and should be fulfilled within the first semester of study. Workshops are facilitated by Gibson Scheid, Ph.D. and held at the SF State Downtown Campus.

Spring 2012 Workshops

The first two career workshops are required sessions for Spring 2012 incoming students, but are also open to all graduate business students.

One-on-one career counseling with Gibson Scheid is available by appointment.

Meet Gibson Scheid, M.B.A., Ph.D.

Gibson ScheidGibson is an experienced career counselor and former corporate executive who has worked in both corporate and academic settings, helping professionals and graduate students make successful career changes. She received her M.B.A. from SF State and her Ph.D. from Fielding Graduate University in the area of human development. You are encouraged to use the SF State tool Optimal Résumé to create or revise your résumé, as well as to improve your interviewing skills by practice answering commonly asked questions. The online tool is available through the Career Workshop module on iLearn.

Incoming students are automatically registered to access the MBA Career Workshop materials on iLearn. All other students are also encouraged to utilize iLearn. For access to career materials on iLearn, send an email with your full name, student ID number and SF State email address to Gibson Scheid at mbajobs@sfsu.edu.
